This 1978 25th Anniversary Special Edition Pace Car is unique in so many ways. Chevrolet marked its 25th anniversary year by making the most extensive redesigns since 1968. The Pace car design was such a hit that Chevrolet made one for each dealer in the country and they sold for double the sticker price. Leading its many claims to fame is that it was the first Corvette to pace the Indianapolis 500. It is the only Corvette to have its own unique vin number. The black and silver color scheme was used only once and is set off by the red pin stripe. The glass mirrored T tops are another first. This particular low mileage car is all original with matching numbers and everything works. It has the optional special 60 series tires which make it all the more impressive. This car even has the original radio and working CB. Not a lot of folks to talk to but it works! To add to its uniqueness, this car was originally owned by Kentucky Senator and baseball great Jim Bunning.
